From his early days producing documentaries for the Tennis Channel to his current editorial work with Sports Illustrated, Peter has always been rooted in sports journalism. Since 2006, Peter has created content around the Olympics, Super Bowl, College Football, Boxing, Tennis, Baseball and Hockey for a variety of outlets. He currently is a regular contributor with Sports Illustrated.

Peter created an action sports series for Chevy Colorado that featured the very best from the world of surfing, mountain biking, kayaking and mountain climbing. The high octane branded docu-series integrated the truck brand with these adventure athletes' unique lifestyles and was a massive hit for the Chevy brand.

Documentary


Documentary


In 2013, Peter set out to tell the story of Team Fight to Walk, a tale of heroic boxer Boyd Melson and fellow co-founder Christen Zaccagnino. The short documentary chronicles their heroic quest to find a cure for Spinal Cord Injury. Since then he has created documentary series across the sports world, both editorially and for commercial purposes. His most notable work was an investigative look into the future of concussions. The series entitled 'SB100'  aired across Wired and Sports Illustrated digital platforms.

Off-Field


Matkiwsky has also created content off the field in the world of sports. He's directed content for brands featuring athletes in the world of fashion, comedy and beyond. His most notable work off the court, was a video for JCPenney that featured NFL prospects, Ezekiel Elliot and Carson Wentz, shopping with Michael Strahan before the NFL Draft.
