Peter Matkiwsky has written and directed comedy since his 2005 feature film debut, The Bonnie Situation. Since then he has created comedic sketches and ad campaigns for Sports Illustrated and Tennis Channel, as well as sponsors such as Citibank, Geico, Jack Links, Russell and Mattel. Recently he worked on Citi's 'Say What You Mean" campaign. His four spots featured Jim Breuer, Noah Syndergaard, Curtis Granderson, Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Mr. Met, and the 7Line Army. These spots ran on television, online and social channels throughout 2017.
Peter wrote and and directed Sports Illustrated's comedy series "Funniest People in Sports". The series featured athletes from around the world of sports and was a first in comedy for the iconic SI brand. Perhaps the most successful comedic venture with SI came in the form of a branded campaign with Sasquatch and Clay Matthews for Jack Links. "Clay Matthews Messin' with Sasquatch" accumulated over 4 million views and was a smash hit for both SI & Jack Links.
From prank shows to scripted parodies, Peter has created digital shorts across the comedic landscape. One of his most acclaimed was a digital short he produced and directed in 2017 for Russell. The branded spot series focused on the greatest accomplishments in dad history. Each Dadlete parody captured the intensity of an NFL Films documentary with the comedic sensibilities of an SNL style short.
